The World Conference on the Environment has estimated that 25-30% of the surface area in Italy is likely to be desert by 2020. This projected data is not just for the South, which is the area most exposed to the forces of light and heat, but also the Po Valley. The main cause of desertification of the Po Valley has to be attributed not only to the changed and changing climatic conditions, but especially to the progressive increase in the use of synthetic chemical products in conventional agriculture. The plants that are now compromised by the synthetic chemicals are always more 'thirsty' and consume a lot of water to maintain their vital processes

15-20 years is just a 'blink of the eye', so it is very important to start working immediately on several fronts: the creation of adequate agricultural organisms, the formation of humus and maintaining good water itself.
